The Kulturfest has taken place every year in turn at Namibian German schools since 1995, under the auspices of the German Cultural Council (DKR).

The objectives of the AGDS are the preservation, maintenance and promotion of the German language and German culture in Namibia through the targeted promotion and support of all member associations.
